Nation First Foundation believes that a supportive system can be achieved by a network of people -- peers, family and friends -- who provide emotional and practical support to an individual.
It is in this light that Nation First Foundation created an outreach to celebrate Children’s Day with the children at the internally displaced persons (IDP) at the Durumi / Area 1 IDP Camp.
CHILDREN’S DAY, A Day marking childhood was celebrated with fun and frolic at the Durumi / Area 1 IDP Camp by Nation First Foundation.
It all began with music, fun and games for the children at the IDP Camp.
Nation First Foundation created an atmosphere where various performances by the children was organized in order to exhibit love and affection for them which could further remind the children psychologically and physically that they are not alone.
To highlight the importance of the day an informative speech was delivered by the Founder and CEO of Nation First Foundation Mr. Elidad Onianwa on the importance of looking out and being there for these children at the IDPs and those in need.
The day ended with distribution of party packs filled with:
EXERCISE BOOKS, PENCILS, RULERS, ERASERS, STOCKINGS, RAINCOATS, WATER BOTTLES, FOOD AND DRINKS to the children and wonderful memories lingering in everybody’s mind.
Nigeria's future depends largely on the wellbeing of its children and young people.
The more a child's wellbeing is ensured through developing appropriate support systems, the more confident Nigeria can be for its future generations.
A child who grows up in a supportive and secure environment is more likely to be able to cope well as an adult, to advance their standard of living, and to look after the older generation.
