Following a Needs Assessment conducted on the 1st of July 2025, Nation First Foundation
identified urgent healthcare gaps affecting residents of Wumba Community in Apo ward, AMAC,
Abuja. Our team visited the Primary Health Centre and surrounding settlements, engaging with
community members and frontline staff. What we found was deeply concerning - healthcare
delivery in the community is on the brink of collapse, with little to no support reaching those who
need it most.
In response, Nation First Foundation swiftly initiated a Medical Emergency Intervention on the
23rd of July, 2025. This was not just a visit; it was a bold call to action. The goal was clear: bring
visibility to the crisis, draw media and stakeholder attention, and mobilize support to save lives
and restore dignity to Wumba’s healthcare system.
A symposium on Needs Assessment of Community System Strengthening for Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) in Nigeria. The event will take place at Hall 2 Merit House on the 29th of September, 2023, and the time is 10:00 am prompt.
The purpose of this needs assessment is to gather valuable insights and perspectives from NGOs and government officials regarding the current state of community systems in addressing STIs in Nigeria. Identification of existing gaps and challenges will enable us develop actionable strategies for strengthening the community systems and improving the delivery of services related to STI prevention, testing, treatment, and support.
